There is so much potential in this franchise. On the flip side, you can do less with peer to peer. Meaning in theory, we could scale the game to 100 players with no lag as long as it runs on a dedicated server. Thanks to fortnite network code being free to developers who use unreal. UE5 also has much better multiplayer/networking code out of the box than other engines. HOWEVER, with UE5 and Nanite, they could scale models however they want! Meaning those who want more poly's can crank the settings and those that don't can run lower settings. As long as a game is 3d and fun, the actual polygon count doesn't matter. I don't really care for "better" graphics. Which means bigger maps, more enemies, better AI, and so on. If they were to make Remnants 2 I would hope they develop on Unreal Engine 5. The only downsides for me are the slight lag issues with multiplayer. Dark Souls esk difficulty while offering solid gameplay.
